I have exciting news to share! I have decided to step out in faith and go on the World Race: Gap Year.

The World Race is a program through Adventures in Missions (AIM), an interdenominational nonprofit missions organization that focuses on discipleship, prayer, and the relationship between God and His people. Established in 1989, it has brought over 100,000 people to the mission field. I am so honored to have been accepted into this program and to have this opportunity to bring the Word of the Lord and His love all around the World!

Due to Covid, my plans will look a bit different than expected. In September 2020, I will be heading to Gainesville, Georgia and will be calling that home for 3 months! At AIM, we will be staying at their campus for missional training and learning more of what God has called us to do. I’m so excited to experience all that God has planned — a time that will shape my heart, mind, and lips to share the Gospel. In January, permitting it will be safe to do so,  we will then travel to San Jose Costa Rica, Guatemala, Thailand & Eswatini. Although each country, month, week, and even day will look different, some of the things the team will be doing includes: ministering to children who are living on the streets, serving in hospitals for people with special needs, spending time in elderly homes, evangelism, and teaching English. I genuinely feel as if the Lord has called me to spend my first year out of high school serving Him in radical ways, and I think the World Race will be that perfect opportunity. I have SUCH a heart for serving, and getting to partake in this would fulfill so many dreams of mine. Despite what is going on in the world today, there are measures in place to where they’re making it safe to go.

Coolest part? YOU have an opportunity to help me get there!! There are two easy ways to become a part of this journey.

Prayer:

  1. For me and my team, that we would delight in our new community together, and grow together in the name of the Lord. Pray that each of our gifts be used to bring Him glory.

  2. For the people we will encounter. That we can use our stories to make connections and form awesome, lasting relationships!

  3. Over the number $15,000. That is the amount I need in order to partake in this, and the last thing I would want to get in the way would be money!

Financial support:

I am asked to raise $15,000. That being said, please pray about financially supporting me through this trip. Any amount is genuinely helpful! My fundraising goal includes the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while abroad. I know that the God who called me to this is faithful to provide. While you may not be traveling to a distant country, you are still doing something significant by enabling me to walk out my call and be the hands and feet of Jesus. By supporting this mission, you are a part of God’s Kingdom work!

There are two ways you can financially donate:

  1. Via my blog (https://joshpohl.theworldrace.org). Not only does this act as a place for donations, but I will also be posting regularly about my journey — subscribe if you want to stay updated!

  2. By venmo or paypal. Venmo- @joshpohl1 & Paypal- joshpohl1

  3. By mail! Feel free to just send a check if that’s easiest for you.

I know things are tough right now, so believe me; if you’re unable to support me financially at this time,  that is completely understable. I’m not just writing this asking for your money, not at all. I want to invite you along this journey with me!

Y’all. Thank you so much!! I am beyond excited. If you want to talk, or have ANY questions, here is how you can contact me: Cell- (571)-485-5114  |  Email: [email protected] | I would love to have a conversation whether it be over the phone, or (fingers crossed) over a cup of coffee soon. I will be following up soon to set that up if you’re interested!

All the love,

Josh Pohl
