Hey beautiful peeps! It’s been only a week and you’re hearing from me again, how crazy is that?! I’m dedicating every Saturday to post a blog to keep you all updated while walking alongside me in this Journey. I’m also challenging myself to create, edit, and post a vlog each Sunday. I’m optimistic to see the Lord work through this tool to share to you guys what he’s doing in my heart through this season. Today I’m writing to you all about my team! There’s a total of four guys on my team which includes me plus our team leader who will be with us for three months. Enjoy the read as much as I’m enjoy writing to you.

Towards the end of the first week here at AIM (Adventures in Missions) it was that time I was dreading…time to choose our team names. I spent days prior to decision day putting together names in my head but nothing stuck. Once the guys and I got together we were trying to brainstorm ideas but we were getting nowhere. Our coach Tim chimed in suggesting we all take three minutes to ourselves to think. I was losing hope, so why not give this a try. I took a minute to pray and asked the Lord to give us a name that could represent us men. Then this happened. Before I shared my ideas with the team the word “mosaic” was circling my head but the weird thing was I didn’t know what the word meant. Mosaic is a picture made out of broken pieces of glass. That’s the way the guys and I saw our team. We were all broken pieces that came together to form that picture, the image God created.

One of the mentors Matt said that back in 2013 when he did the race his team was called the “Mosaics”. Since there was another team already called mosicas we wanted to be unique, then the name “Brosaic” was thrown into the mix. This was a day where history was made. The Brosaics came alive. We are brothers that are broken, better together that shape the picture God had planned for this season.

Meet the Brosaics: Peyton (on the left), JP (me), and Josh (on the right). This picture was taken by our team lead Justin who was cheering us on! We were yards away from finishing our 2.2 mile fitness hike where we run with our 30-50lbs packs! I was encouraged by these guys. Although I was falling behind a little bit, the guys waited for me so we all could finish together. They showed me what encouraging others through the pain looked like; they demonstrated the attributes of Jesus illustrating patience, endurance through Christ, and love. We had to get under 38 minutes. We ended up running past that finish line together with our arms crossed finishing in 25 minutes. Excited to walk alongside these guys during this season.

Thanks for giving this a read! Here’s a little video introducing the team!

With Peace,

JP
